Welcome to Variable Anatomy 101!

Anatomy of the variables

Variables in RevOps

Variables can be accessed in Markdown-powered text fields, such as SKUs and Terms in the Quote Builder and the line item description on the SKUs Settings Page. Property names will start with a “{{deal...” or “{{current...” to see a list of available variables. Type with only one bracket and add “deal” or “current” to trigger the autocomplete list of variables that are available to you.

More info on current and deal available in Reference guide to variables

deal

deal.skus.UserLicense.properties.Mexico.value

When deal is the starting point, you can access all the parts of the deal. This includes all SKUs, legal terms (these need to be pre-existing on the deal in order to be referenced), and custom properties that are on this single current deal. This example is getting the value property of the custom property named Mexico of this deal that is part of the User License line item.

current

current.sku.properties.Mexico.friendlyName

When current is the starting point, you can access all the properties of the current SKU. This example is looking for the current SKU's custom property, that is named Mexico and displays its friendly name.
