People in this role tends to come from a Sales or Sales Operations background or a Financial Operations background. The responsibilities of this role can be quite broad, especially at smaller companies where the person is also the entire department. This role has grown from the desire that many companies want to make sure the overlap between Sales/Finance, Sales/Customer Success, and Sales/Legal are well supported.
